When I do the one step update, the summary after the update does not show the account details it used to show.
Hello @Richard Hall,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
Can you provide some additional information?
Looking forward to your response!
When I do an update for an account, whether a bank account or a credit card account, the update summary used to show how many accounts were updated. Now it only shows the update summary screen with no data about accounts on the summary screen. I don't remember if I did an update and this happened after the update or not. My quicken data file is located under D:\Documents\Quicken. The data file is backed up to iDrive.com daily. I don't have any other issues that I know of.
Thank you for following up with those details!
When I run a One Step Update in my Quicken, I don't see the same behavior you describe. I have a couple of adjustments we can make to your current setup that may help.
First, we should move your data file. The default location for a Quicken for Windows data file is C:\Users\[YourUsername]\Documents\Quicken, and we recommend keeping it there. You should keep it stored on a local drive and avoid using cloud-synced folders/services (e.g., OneDrive, Dropbox) for active files to prevent potential data corruption.
I have linked a couple of articles that touch on file location. In a nutshell, it is ok to store backups externally and even have them synced or backed up by iDrive, but doing this with your main data file can cause it to become damaged.
Once you move your active file to the default location and exclude it from the iDrive backup, you can open it from the new location. After opening, we can Validate the file. To do so, choose File menu > Validate and Repair File. Select the first box labeled Validate file, then click Ok.
A window will open showing the validation results. Look for any mention of corrections or damage. You can close this and then close Quicken. Wait a couple of seconds, reopen Quicken, and run your One Step Update again to see whether the summary has changed.
Let us know what you find!
