I am having this same issue on Quicken Classic (Mac) v 9.2.2. I can't connect my account using Direct Connect. It's been working for many, many years until last week. Now it just says "Did you mistype your sign-in info? Please re-enter your credentials for Huntington National Bank." when I try to login. Confirmed that my credentials are correct by logging into the site using them. Disconnected my account from Quicken and tried to reconnect and it's the same issue.
This is definitely a Quicken issue and not user error. I see that one issue regarding not being able to login to Huntington was recently marked "Resolved" but problems still remain.
Hello @bdubs,
Thank you for reporting the issue you're experiencing.
The Huntington Bank alert that was recently closed was for a different issue than the one you have described. I have some follow-up questions for you:
Looking forward to your response!
This is the error message that I receive. My account just stopped syncing at the end of last week. Credentials are all correct with 100% certainty. I just switched the sync settings to Quicken Connect, and I can now download my transactions again, but Direct Connect does not work.

I had this same problem the last 5 days (Window PC) so today I disconnected my Huntington checking account in Quicken then I went to Tools, Account list, Edit on the Huntington checking account, Online Services, I not sure if this was the problem but in the account number field had only had 4 numbers so I put the complete account number in then picked on Setup Now and did my normal account login information and it all worked. Hope this helps
@bdubs,
Thank you for the additional information.
Based on the information @randy d shared, with the account disconnected, you can edit the account number to possibly correct this. With my own connected accounts, I also see four-digit account numbers, and I am not having any connectivity issues.
I also know that sometimes deleting the financial institution name and account number can help.
Do this by going to Tools>Account List.
Select Edit next to the account.
You make edits from the General tab.
Please try one or both of these suggestions and then try connecting via Direct Connect again.
Let us know how it goes!
I'm on a Mac so those instructions don't work for me. I did try disconnecting the account, checking for any lingering account information and removing it, then reconnecting using Direct Connect, and I got the same error message. I had to revert back to Quicken Connect.
Hi @bdubs, Thanks for sharing the steps you've taken and the findings so far.
I understand your concern about why your credentials are being rejected when using Direct Connect but work with Quicken Connect.
As explained in our support article, the "Did you mistype your sign-on info?" error occurs when your financial institution reports to Quicken that the login credentials are incorrect.
In some cases, connecting through Direct Connect requires a unique login ID and password that are different from the credentials you use to sign in to your bank's website. I recommend contacting your financial institution to confirm whether you need separate credentials specifically for Direct Connect. I also suggest reviewing our support article about Connection Types in Quicken.
I hope this helps!
Hi @bdubs, I just wanted to follow up since I haven’t heard back from you. I’m checking in to see if you still need assistance.
I am on MAC with same issues. Very frustrating not to be able to do downloads.
Hi @Andrew Murry, Thanks for joining this thread and letting us know you're experiencing the same issue. After reviewing our internal tools, I couldn't find any errors associated with your Huntington accounts.
To better understand what's happening, I have a couple of questions:
I look forward to your reply!
