Last Download Date/Time In Account Register Not Updating

Question

Asking for my friend JP who is using subscription version of Quicken. He is having trouble getting the last download date/time in the account register to update. If I recall correctly, this can be fixed most of the time by deleting runtime.dat file in a Quicken related directory.

Hoping someone provide the details on how to reliably get the account register last download date/time to update.

Here is a pic of the Last Download Date/Time in my sunsetted version of QW2017. I am guessing JP's account register is a little more up to date than my account register ;-)

@mshiggins the other place to check is Tools→Online Center.  Click on "Options" while holding down Ctrl-Shift.  In the dropdown menu, select "Troubleshooting", then "FI Action Required".  In the pop-up window, highlight the FI, and then click Refresh.

After this is done, update the account again (OSU, OFX) and see if the date refreshes to the correct date and time.  This worked for me for one of my accounts that sporadically updated the Last download date and time.

Here is the procedure to replace the runtime.dat file. I hope this works for JP.

* Do an OSU and then Exit Quicken
* In Windows explorer, navigate to C:\ProgramData\Quicken\Inet. If you don't see the C:\ProgramData folder, it is hidden by default. In Windows 11 Windows Explorer, click on View then Show and select Hidden items to show the hidden folders. You should also select File name extensions under Show to see the ".dat" part of the file if that is not already selected.
* In the Inet folder, open the folder that matches the name of your active QDF file and look for the runtime.dat file. If there is no such folder, it may be because you have renamed your Quicken file at some point. In that case, search the Inet folder to find the runtime.dat file that has a time and date that matches your recent OSU. For me the folder is QDATA, which is (or was 25 years ago) the default Quicken file name.
* Once you have found the correct runtime.dat file, rename it to runtime-old.dat or something similar. Quicken will create a new runtime.dat to replace the damaged one.
