I tried searching for a stock at the "Investing" level and it was not found. Other stocks I have tried do. I found the same thing when trying "All Transactions". It does show when I search in the individual account with this holding. I have attached screenshots to show what I am seeing. I copy and pasted my search to be 100% sure it was not a typo user error.
Any idea what is going on? Having search be unreliable seems an important bug to me.

Hmmm… I just tried several searches for partial names of stocks at both the Investing and All Transactions levels, and I was unable to reproduce what you're reporting; the searches worked correctly for me.
The only thing I can think of based on your screenshot is whether you have the Searches constrained to looking at one or more columns rather than All Visible Columns. In your Investing search, click on the little "v" icon next to the magnifying glass, and see if a particular field is selected instead of All Visible Columns at the top:
