New to Mac version. Can I treat a Transfer In as INcome in the Exp/Inc report? And how? TY
Hi @JimJ, You can include transfers in reports in Quicken Classic for Mac by customizing the report settings. However, transfers are normally excluded from Income and Expense reports because Quicken doesn't consider moving money between accounts income or an expense. To include incoming transfers in a report:
Please note that the transfer may appear in a separate Transfers section rather than under Income. I also recommend reviewing our support articles: https://info.quicken.com/mac/transferring-money-between-accounts and https://info.quicken.com/mac/create-and-customize-reports I hope this helps!
TY for all your help. I will check out the articles your provide.
Many people wonder why Quicken does not allow for transfers to be classified as income nor expenses. The logic, though, is actually quite simple: In order for a transaction to be classified as income it needs to increase net worth. And in order for a transaction to be classified as an expense it needs to decrease net worth. Since transfers do not increase nor decrease net worth they are neither income nor expense.
