Fidelity CC901 Reauthorization Issue

When trying one step update today (10/25/2026), I saw CC-901 messages for 6 accounts from Fidelity Investments and prompted me to "Reauthorize". (Fidelity transaction download has had the issue for a few months due to CC-501. I also was aware that the issue has been acknowledged by Quicken according to "UPDATED 10/22/26 Fidelity Investments CC-501/FDP-2505" post. )

After authorizing on the Fidelity site by selecting all accounts, I was re-directed back to Quicken.

In confirmation page in Quicken, 6 accounts (3 active accounts and 3 inactive accounts) were shown using the following Fidelity naming convention and authorized, but 3 active accounts which is currently tracked in Quicken were NOT authorized.

Account reauthorized:

• COMPANY_A ESPP 99999 (Inactive: 0 as it's no longer used)
• COMPANY_A 401(K) SAVINGS AND IN (active)
• RESTRICTED STOCK 99999 (Inactive: 0 as it's no longer used)
• Traditional IRA 99999 (active)
• COMPANY_A STOCK OPTIONS 99999 (Inactive: 0 as it's no longer used)
• Individual - TOD 99999 (active)

Accounts not authorized (unchecked on the financial institution's web site during reauthorization)

New transactions will no longer be downloaded as the accounts have been disconnected. To continue downloading transactions, click "Add Account" and select the accounts on your financial institution's web site.

• My COMPANY_A 401(K) (The account # is same as COMPANY_A 401(K) SAVINGS AND IN.)
• My COMPANY_A ESPP Fidelity Account (The account# is same as Individual - TOD 99999.)
• My Traditional IRA (The account# is same as Traditional IRA 99999.)

Because I wanted to maintain the existing records in the existing accounts, I tried to "Add Account" by performing the above instructions, but it failed.

NOW, I observed that only 3 inactive accounts were updated with new timestamp in Quicken. However, the main 3 active accounts were NOT updated and download at all.

I have the latest backup file before performing the above reauthorization steps.

Please help to resolve the current issue.

(NOTE: The issue is seen in Quicken Classic Business & Personal R69.53 on Windows subscription. )

@NGQK2017 - Here are the standard steps for this:

1. Account Register > upper right Gear icon > Edit Account Details > Online Services tab > Deactivate > OK.
2. Repeat step #1 for each and every Fidelity account.
3. After all the Fidelity accounts are deactivated: Tools > Add Account (do not use Set Up Now) > select Fidelity Investments > Next > follow the prompts to be taken through the Authorization/Reauthorization process > when prompted to decide what to do with the downloaded accounts data, make sure to Link the downloaded accounts to the correct accounts that are in Quicken .

The steps I listed here break the EWC+ connection and then establish a new EWC+ connection. Some would call that "reauthorizion" but I generally refer to it as "authorization" because an EWC+ connection needs to be set up from scratch so IMO that is an initial authorization, not a reauthorization.

But many apply the term "reauthorize/reauthorization" to both the initial EWC+ connection set up process and to Reset Account equally.

To summarize:

• NEW EWC+ CONNECTION SET UP: Reauthorization refers to the initial connection set up via Add Account or Set Up Now. There is no Reauthorize button or Reset Account button.
• EXISTING EWC+ CONNECTION: Reauthorization refers to refreshing or resetting the EWC+ connection by reauthorizing the financial institution to continue sharing our financial information with Intuit (Quicken's aggregator). In this case, we might be provided a "Reauthorize" button to click on or we can go to the Online Services tab of Account Details and click on the Reset Account button.

As a final comment: Fidelity is one of those financial institutions that does not always work well with EWC+ reauthorization when using the Reauthorize button or Reset Account button. Sometimes it does but often it does not. So, when the Reauthorize or Reset Account buttons do not provide acceptable results or produces odd results, it is best to start over and set up the whole EWC+ connection from scratch, again. That is what steps #1 - #3 does.
