Is there a year to date report that can have all categories and compare the total spent in each category by a tag?

Try the Banking > Cash Flow by Tag report
@LambsPalmsMU the other report that you can try is a Banking Summary report. On the Display tab, set the Rows as Category and the Columns as Tag.
