How do I create a gain/loss report for my IRA & Roth accounts?

I want to periodically review my gains and losses in my self-directed IRA and Roth accounts to see how well I doing. I can get a report for my taxable accounts, but not retirement accounts. I am using Quicken 2018 for Mac.

Hi there Don, appreciate your question.

You can build a report for the Sell's, Buy's and Investment categories, but probably not what you are needing for the IRA/Roth.

    Hope this information helps you.

    Respectfully,

Right, that doesn't work for IRA and Roth accounts.

    Hi Don,

That is correct. It does not work for IRA or Roth accounts unless they are Buy, Sell, or Payment/Transfer..

    Apologies for the inconvenience.

    DON,

Have you looked at the Portfolio View > Realized Gain view?

If that doesn't do it for you, here's one trick... edit the account settings for the IRA and temporarily change it to a Brokerage type account. It will then show up in the Tax Schedule report. It is probably best if you do this in a copy of your data file, then trash the copy when you're done with your analysis.

Thanks Rick. The realized gain view will do the trick!
