Stock prices prior to 2018 have disappeared from in my investment accounts

Stock prices prior to 2018 have disappeared from in my investment accounts. I prefer to update manually. When I try to update historical prices, Quicken becomes non-responsive. Thinking that the problem stems from the older version (2017 Deluxe) I was using, I purchased a new subscription. Still doesn't work. Any ideas?

    My first troubleshooting step would be to Validate my data:


    File | File Operations | Validate & Repair: Validate

    Quicken user since Q1999. Currently using QW2017.

    Tried this.  Got about 30% and then seems not to have advanced for 2 hours.
