Quicken ID Login form disappears when first field is clicked

I clicked in that first field, and the window blanks. I cannot access my data. This seems a bit different than the issue stickied to the forums.

R19.44. I'm sure that the description in that, while similar, is not the same as what I am reporting. Did you look at the video? In any event, I've tried all the proposed solutions from that post.

In the video, I open Quicken. It immediately takes me to the Quicken ID Login page. I click on email address and the form disappears. That's it.

I've tried reverting. Since I am not logged into Quicken ID the Mondo update fails with the error "You need membership to proceed with the requested item."

No. This is a laptop. W10 64-bit, fully updated. 4k display (but set to 1920 x 1080).

I wish I could see the system tray in your video. Does the Quicken icon disappear?

There is no Quicken icon in the system tray. Never has been.

No, As soon as you start Quicken and see the splash screen there's a Quicken "Q" icon in the system tray. Have you looked at the Application log in the event viewer for any error messages related to Quicken?

Nope. I have it installed on a desktop, now and running (but it needs to run on the laptop). Both show the icon in the task bar, but neither have ever shown in the system tray. Screen shot attached. (account info intentional blanked out)

No logs for Quicken.

My bad! I meant the task bar. Does the Quicken icon continue to show in the TASK BAR on your laptop after the form disappears?

Yes, it stays in the task bar until I close Quicken manually.

Have you tried creating a new Windows user account and running Quicken from that account?

Yes. I've tried every posted suggestion (some, like uninstall/reinstall, I've tried twice).

I'm stumped. Have you considered reloading Windows on your laptop?

Absolutely not. This started at the same time as the last Quicken update which moved away from .NET. I'll wait for the next update and in the mean time remote into my desktop that still works.

That was R19.44. Any previous version should not have the same problem.

Font size problems? Display issues? (Windows)

If you are using a version of Quicken at the Quicken 2019 US R 19.44 patch level or newer and you have previously made the following Compatibility change, please undo the change.
Users of older Quicken versions please try the following:

Close Quicken !!! (This process won't work while Quicken is running!)
Check the Compatibility tab settings in your Quicken Desktop program icon:
In the Windows Start Menu right-click the Quicken icon. Select "Open File Location". This brings up a Windows File Explorer window. Right-click the highlighted Quicken shortcut line item.
or
Go to the traditional Windows Desktop and right-click the Quicken program icon.

Now click Properties.

Select the Compatibility tab.

Uncheck all settings.

Windows 7, 8.1: Check "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings".
Windows 10: Check "Override high DPI scaling behavior. Scaling performed by:" and select "Application" (also try the other available options!)

Be sure to uncheck the "Run this program in compatibility mode for [older Windows version]" setting.

Click the "Change settings for all users" button.
Click Apply and exit.
Now start Quicken and see if that makes a difference.

Some additional tuning suggestions:

Try this workaround for 4k monitors

Unless absolutely required, try not to use "View / Use large fonts"
Try setting the bank account registers to use a different font style or size: in Edit / Preferences / Register click the Fonts button and try different fonts.

Try adjusting the bank account registers' row height: in Edit / Preferences / Register choose among the available Row Height choices: Compact, Comfortable or Standard

If all else fails, try changing Windows Control Panel / Display options for "Make text and other items … smaller or larger" to use a different scaling level.

Clean install, so first section didn't apply. 4k fix had no effect. Cannot get to the point of having any menu other than File and Help, so next section is not possible to do. Font scaling (and display resolution changes) have no effect. Today's update did not have any effect.

Is a Firewall blocking you?

Check if Windows Defender feature Ransomware protection is enabled. Configure or deactivate the Ransomware feature (may also be called "Controlled Folders")

I tried this on my own laptop and it worked fine.

1. Download the latest Quicken installation file from quicken.com and the R18.16 Mondo Patch.

2. Use QcleanUI to remove Quicken.

3. Reboot computer.

4. Enable Airplane Mode so there's no Internet connection.

5. Run Quicken installation program but don't launch Quicken.

6. Disable Airplane Mode.

7. Start Quicken and sign-in with Quicken ID and password. Should be R14.23.

8. Install the R18.16 Mondo patch and Start Quicken.

You're now running Quicken Subscription R18.16.
