I use the split window regularly. Sometime ago the one I put in became frozen in time and comes up each time I use the split window. I do not want a template of the past.

Use a register transaction that has the correct category splits and memorize it.Next, review the Memorized Payee List. Look for the payee name you just memorized and delete any old, incorrect entries from the list.
Optionally, "lock" the entry if you want to prevent it from being changed by new transactions.Review the settings in Edit / Preferences / Data Entry & Quickfill. Make sure that all options pertaining to data entry and recall are activated.5
