FYI, Quicken is now a subscription program.  I am assuming you have already bought your copy of Quicken 2019.  Download the installation file.  Backup you Quicken 2016 data file.  Start the install program and it will update all your files including the data file from Quicken 2016 to Quicken 2019.

    Hi @Susan1026 ,

You can't because Quicken 2019, is not the latest out, Quicken 2020, is.

You need to buy the Quicken Subscription program, because that is all, that is available, to connect to Banks after April 30, 2020.

Buy the program, on Black Friday, if you want to save money.

To install, follow this procedure:  https://community.quicken.com/discussion/7844658/installing-reinstalling-windows-quicken-subscription-editions

    Hi @Snowman ,

Incorrect information. Quicken 2019 is no longer out. It is Quicken 2020.
Also does not convert the Data File. Quicken 2016 through Quicken Subscription uses the same Quicken Data File without conversion.

  • I did not purchase a new quicken program yet. I am planning to buy the latest subscription but I’m not sure how to get my current info onto new program. I do not link it to my bank accounts.
  • I guess you have a point. I didn’t know if it was a good idea to update or stay with the 2016 version

If you're not downloading transactions or security prices, there is no need to upgrade your Quicken version.

Quicken 2016 works no differently than Quicken 2020 in manual mode.  And FYI, if you let your subscription expire with Quicken 2020, Quicken will place a renewal reminder banner at the top of the window...and another sidebar reminder to renew that takes up about 1/3 of your working screen space.

Quicken 2016 has no such restrictions.

Yep Quicken 2020 not 2019.  The computer I was at had not been updated yet.  My bad.
