I hit the exit button from the file and now have a blank page and it seems to be locked

I shut down my computer but still cannot access my bank checkbook

  Try restarting your computer instead of shutting down.

  I'm guessing you have 2 issues -
  

  1 - you did the File --> Exit - and Quicken froze with a blank screen
  

  2 - when using Quicken, you want to access your bank checking account

  We need more details in order to help ...
  What version of Quicken .... -- Help --> About Quicken
  

  Have you setup your bank checking account within Quicken,
  and now, for some reason can't download the transactions via One Step Update ?
