Turn of short sell

Quicken is recording a short sell when I want to record it as sold. Not allowing me to change it. Problem is investment still shows in the acccount after all shares are sold. Short sell seems to keep it displayed forever. Can short sell be turned off or can it be changed to sold. The system doesn't seem to allow a change.

    You should be able to delete the transaction.

    If you downloaded the transaction, you may have inadvertently created a hidden Placeholder which is further confusing the situation. Go to Edit > Preferences > Investing transactions and make sure "Show hidden transactions" is checked.
