I deleted a transaction. How can I recover it?

I deleted a transfer transaction. I tried to download it from the bank but it will not update my registry. How do I recover the transaction?

  Restore a backup from just before you deleted the transaction would be one way, but that might mean you have to re-enter a bunch of transactions if some time has passed between the backup and your deletion.

  If it's a simply transfer transaction why can't you just enter it manually, and then mark it as "cleared"?
