Enter a "income" reminder does not record in "transaction history"

Using Q2013 on a desktop (Win 10)
Clicking "enter" on a CD income reminder transfers the amount to the checking account, but does not show on either the CD or Checking account's transaction history?
I have very little experience with this, possibly operator error?

I don't know how to get to the window with the filter tabs.
My route to transactions:
Acct>Inv>CDs>Holdings>name>transaction history (tab)
If I choose "enter" from income reminders, amt is entered into chking, but not transaction history
Alternate entry:
Acct>Inv>CDs>enter transaction (tab) then fill the form with all data
Then amt transfers to chk AND appears in transactions (using route above)
