How do I prevent auto creation of placeholder transactions?

No, there isn't a preference allowing you to disable their creation. But, keep in mind that they get created for a reason. Why do you want to disable them?5

@ps56k this thread is for Mac, not Windows.First off there isn't any option in Quicken Mac to turn off automatic entry.Second there isn't any option in Quicken Mac to disable automatically creating placeholders like there is in Quicken Windows.

Thanks John. I was afraid that might be the answer. It seems the placeholders only make reconciliation harder for me. I always just delete them and the correct fixes don't look anything like the placeholders. Thanks again.0

Are you auto accepting any downloaded transactions....I don't - and review each download before I click on - Accept -
seem to recall that a prompt for creating "placeholders" would then pop-up at times...0 -
