    I am having similar issue as Jean, although it is Fidelity not MS.
    I am running Quicken for MAC.
    I have a checking account. It is with a broker. the account ends up under "investing". I would like it to be under the "Banking" category.
    Windows Quicken is different than MAC Quicken.

    Fidelity Investments (I'm their client also) is NOT a bank, therefore it cannot legally issue a "checking account".
    Your checking account is, actually, a Money Market Fund at Fidelity ... thus, properly is IS an "Investing" account.
