USAA no transaction downloads for a week (edited)

My experience so far with USAA using MFA is that I have to put a code in every time I update my accounts. It's quite a pain.0

@Kim Thurman That is one of the reasons you should switch Direct Connect. It has its own security model. It doesn't require MFA.

Just so people know this was posted on the USAA site a few months ago when they made MFA mandatory for logging into their website.jrfaris said:Hold on everyone. USAA is switching to MFA. I haven't seen anything yet on how this will affect Financial Management Software access to accounts. Hopefully, since accounts are now accessed by Direct Connect, the impact will be minimal:
I notice the unlucky people using NFCU were hit with the same thing, but unlike USAA, NFCU doesn't support Direct Connect and as such there is "very long" thread talking about all the problems they are having with it and downloading into Quicken.Signature:

Yes, I use Direct Connect with USAA and had no problem with the switch to MFA. USAA does not charge for it so there is no real down side to using DC.Chris_QPW said:@Kim Thurman That is one of the reasons you should switch Direct Connect. It has its own security model. It doesn't require MFA.

Thanks for the tip. I switched from Quicken Connect to Direct Connect and it seems to have solved the MFA issue. The only problem I noticed after doing the setup and checking a second download is that it downloaded the same transaction both times. I'll have to see if this continues to happen.0

This certainly shouldn't happen. Each transaction is given an unique Id, and Quicken is suppose to ignore the transaction if it has already imported a transaction with the unique Id. I use the Windows so I don't know how you would show that unique Id in Quicken Mac, maybe someone one else can jump and and answer that.Kim Thurman said:The only problem I noticed after doing the setup and checking a second download is that it downloaded the same transaction both times. For Quicken Windows there is a "Downloaded ID" column that has it. Also it is in the OFX log. It is the FITID field.
Hopefully this was a one time thing. I have never had a problem with USAA's generation of unique Ids.Signature:
