Purchases of Investments but won't appear on list to allow entry of diviend

On Sept 21 I recorded the purchase of two investments that were accepted and show in "Investing" list but when I try to enter a dividend payment it will not accept because they do not appear in the drop down list. I have tried deleting and re-entering the purchases but same result

HOW did you record those purchases? And in what type of account?

And how are you trying to record those dividends? Are you in the investment account when you're trying to record the dividends?

Is the security paying the dividend a hidden security within Quicken (Ctrl-Y for the Security List, check to show hidden securities)?

ok... walk us thru your process, since we are not looking over your shoulder,
and don't know what "investing list" or "drop down list" you are referring to...

Are you doing this all manually ?

Did you - Setup an "investment" account -
and then create a "security" inside that account ?
