Why don't I need to provide passwords for most of the accounts I do a one-step update for?

For the last few weeks, when I do a one-step update for my credit card and other bank or credit union accounts, I haven't needed or even had the option to enter a password for most of the accounts. I always had to before, but I don't remember any communication recently explaining this would be changed. Does anyone know what's happening now?
