I have a replaced Amex card - how do I change the number

I've received a new Amex card. When I deactivate online services, change the number and then reactivate, Q creates a whole new account with only 3 months of data and without my Memo fields. How do I recover this properly. I have not deleted to old account.
Aside ... why can't I add the appropriate tags for this issue?
Thanks

I have some credit cards where, for one reason or another, the card number has changed several times, but all the transactions over these changes still reside within the original Quicken Account. It appears that you are selecting "New Account" instead of "Link to existing" when you're attempting to reconnect the Account.0

That did it ... thanks0
