How do I re-categorize an account type (banking, retirment, brokerage)

I recently converted from an older version of Quicken for Mac to the latest version and when my accounts came over, they were in incorrect categories, like a checking account instead of a retirement account. I'd like to re-categorize them but Quicken tech support is telling me that while that's possible in Windows, it is not possible for Mac. Is there no work around other than re-creating all my accounts, which I do not want to do?

For banking transactions, you could create a new account in the proper category, open the old account, select all the transactions, and drag them to the new account in the left sidebar. The same should be possible for investing transactions, as long as the destination account is an ingesting investing type of account.
Please make sure to make a backup of your data file before doing such mass transaction moves, just in case something goes wrong!Quicken Mac Subscription • Quicken user since 19930 -
