How do I set up a fake brokerage account on Quicken to investigate investment ideas I have?

    I suggest you create an offline brokerage account: select Tools > Add Account...




    To prevent the account being including in reports and features by default: open the account register, press Ctrl + Shift + E, select the Online Services tab, check Keep this account separate, and OK.
