ADDING CATEGORIES

I have added categories but when I close Quicken and reopen the transactions are there but the categories are missing.

    I am sorry to hear about this problem with categories disappearing. Thank you for speaking with us about this here on the Quicken Community.

    First, how are you opening Quicken when you are using the program? Do you restore from backups frequently? Lastly, where is your current active data file located? You can check this anytime by going to File > Show this file on my computer... in the upper menu at the top of the screen. Be sure that the data file is located on your computer and not on an external drive or cloud-based storage service, as these can cause erratic behavior and data damage.
