Registration screen in Quicken 2011
MHobbs
I just migrated to a new PC, reinstalled Quicken 2011 from a disk, and restored Quicken data file. All works except that now when I open Quicken, I get the registration screen pop-up. The link to to register is broken. How can I either bypass this screen or re-register?

If you haven't already, I suggest you download and apply the Quicken 2011 Release R8 Mondo patch available at:
https://www.quicknperlwiz.com/quickenpatches.html
To deactivate the registration prompt, I suggest you press the
Ctrl
and
Shift
keys while selecting
Tools > One Step Update

Just be aware that if you don't renew the subscription each year you might not be able to access your data. Or you will have a big banner to renew taking up about 25% of your screen. I'm staying on Quicken 2013.

If you haven't jumped the gun already and installed a Q Subscription version, how about a
free upgrade to Quicken 2013 Deluxe?
You can download the installation file here:
https://assistant.quicken.com/patch/ASDES5672FR13/Old_Products/QWIN/QW2013DLX.exe
That should keep you going another couple of years.
And if you do decide to upgrade to a current Quicken version at some time on the future, do select the
Deluxe edition
or higher. Do not select the cheaper Starter Edition. It's too limited and will stop most functionality when the subscription expires.

That's excellent! Thank you!

Thanks, Sherlock. I don't think I have done that, but since I first posted, I have about decided to update to a subscription version. I don't really care for that business model, and I don't need any features besides a basic check register, but the 2011 is getting a bit gray around the muzzle. Might just make sense to bite the bullet and upgrade.
