what happened to the password window

For the first time when I click on the Q17 icon, a password popup does not open. Consequently, I cannot get into my registers. How do I get QuickBooks to work again?

    OTOH, if you really did mean Quicken, are you saying that you had a password on your file & Quicken is no longer prompting you for that password when you try to open the file?

    YES It is Quicken and it is no longer prompting me for the password
