downgrading question

I'm running Quicken Deluxe, I use nothing on this program except the checking register to balance/reconcile/budget/plan my home checking.
What is the cheapest version of Quicken that I can get a yearly sub to that does just that feature?
How do I go about downgrading now? Or do I wait until my renewal is up?
Thanks.

If you just have a checking account without any investment accounts, you can use Quicken Starter but if you don't renew your subscription, your data becomes Read Only. Most SuperUser's recommend using Quicken Deluxe. You can shop around the 3rd party retailers to find a better price and then enter the activation code within 6 months of your subscription expiring. Beware that activation code expire after 2 years.

Thank you. If i do it within 6 months, will I get credit for the half a year I still have on the deluxe edition?

you might also take a look at the Quicken totally web based product - https://www.quicken.com/simplifi/
though... you would have to start over - as Simplifi has no way to import Quicken desktop data files.

Interesting. I literally just want a checkbook like the og Quicken was. Does this Simplifi have a desktop app? Or is it all on your phone app? i'm trying to find that answer, myself.

Simplifi is completely web based. Everything is in the cloud so you can access your data from a desktop or phone. But, Simplifi cannot import your Quicken data.
