Problem using downloaded Quicken 2013 with new computer that has Windows 11

I had downloaded the free version of Qicken 2013 deluxe and added more data to my files. With the new computer, I get the message "Cannot open file. The QDF file is from a later version of Quicken." Any ideas?
Alternatively, is there a CD or downloadable version of Quicken I can buy outright?

When you get that error message there is two possible reasons.  The first is that in fact the data file has been opened and converted to a later version of Quicken.  The other is that the data file is corrupted.

It's possible I downloade the wrong Quicken for my Windows 11 although I tried to follow all the original instructions. Is there a Quicken 2016 to be had?

Quicken 2013 is the last version before they added the Quicken Id, and with Quicken 2014 to Quicken 2017 (which are before it switched to subscription) there is a recent problem that users can no longer log in with the Quicken Id (they get a blank window), and that is needed for registering on a new machine.  The only way around that is copying the Quicken.ini file from a working system.
