Why does Quicken change the opening balances when reactivating an online account?

Occasionally, I have been required to deactivate and then activate Online Services. Whenever I have done this Quicken changes the opening balances of all the reactivated cash accounts. It is simple to correct because all of my beginning balances are zero. However, it is a nuisance and the amounts seem random. Has anyone else had this issue?

    Yes, lots of them. The re-activate process screws up and seems to include both some duplicated transactions and Pending transactions and thinks that the Opening Balance needs to be changed.

    Bottom line is, Quicken has a screwed up process and while yours are all $0, we advise users to enter the correct opening balance in the memo for future quick reference.

    splasher, thanks for your answer. I agree with you it is a messed up part of Quicken.
