Quicken adds balancing cash adjustments for certain buys

I enabled one of my Merrill Lynch accounts to download transactions. For a handful of Bought transactions (all for the ML BANK DEPOSIT PROGRAM), Quicken adds a balancing cash adjustment transaction instead of using the cash in the account. I can delete the XIn, but the shares Bought also gets deleted. If I manually add the Bought, an XIn for the balancing cash adjustment is also added.

I saw some posts on this topic that says I have to delete a corresponding placeholder transactions -- but there are none. How can I get rid of these cash adjustments? They have thrown the cash balance on the account off. Why are they happening only for this one security?
