Where is the Transfer column in quicken Premier?

Quicken version: R51.12 Build 27.1.51.12 for Windows 10 Home

I feel like this should be embarrassingly obvious but I cannot find a "Transfer" column to add to a Quicken register. Clicking on the gear icon at the top right of a register, then "Register Columns" produces a good number of column options to select from. Unfortunately, "Transfer" is not on that list. I've also seen instructions to go to the bottom of a register to find it's toolbar (showing icons for print, columns, etc.). I have no such toolbar showing and no idea of how to activate it if it is hidden.

This is all about me trying to understand how to correctly set up and categorize transfers between to tracked accounts. I could really use some help. Thanks

    Welcome to the community.

There is no Transfer column. Quicken for Windows uses the Category column to provide transfer capability. An account name in square brackets like [Savings] in the Category column indicates a transfer to or from that account.

In the View menu, select Show Toolbar to enable that. Then you can customize it by right-clicking in it.

Quicken user since version 2 for DOS, now using QWin Biz & Personal Subscription (US) on Win10 Pro.

@58delray - where are you seeing, reading, using Quicken for MAC -
as that usage is different than Quicken for Windows

Transfer is as described above - simply the other account in brackets - [Chase Visa]

    Thank You!!

So, let's say I'm making a recurring transfer from checking account A to checking/savings account B. Should I put the "transferred to" account number in the category column of acct. A's register? Then I'd put the "transferred from" acct number into the category of acct B's register.

    Do I understand that correctly?

I just now joined the Quicken Community. I got that from a couple of online queries (Google).

You only need to enter one side of the Transfer. A Transfer will automatically make the other side of the transaction in the other account. So in your Checking account you enter [Savings] with the square brackets as the Category.

I'm staying on Quicken 2013 Premier for Windows.

@58delray - just be aware that Quicken for Mac and Quicken for Windows are similar- but different in several areas, menus, features and methods …

So - be careful what you read vs which version they are referencing
