When downloading transactions QW always asks for my quicken.com userid/password.

Started happening about a week ago. How can I prevent this?

When validating/repairing in normal mode and super mode I get the following error:

QEL: The old file was corrupt and only some of the data has been recovered.

Can this corruption be the cause of my issue? What is the QEL used for?

Thank you for reaching out to the Community and telling us about your issue, though I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing this.

If you haven't already, I suggest you try signing out of your data file completely and then signing back in to refresh the registration token for your Online Connected Services. However, I do recommend that you first save a backup file prior to performing these steps.

Navigate to Edit
Preferences...
Quicken ID & Cloud accounts
Click Sign in as a different user (or it might say Sign in using a different Quicken ID)
Follow the prompts to Sign Out
Sign back in using your Quicken ID (email) and password (this screen is not a pop-up box)

Keep in mind that the sign-in pop-up dialog may continuously keep popping back up throughout this process, in which case you will need to continue closing it each time it pops up until you reach the full sign-in screen.

Signing Out/In probably won't correct the issue. My data file is 20 plus years old and it actually grew out of an older file. I've been getting this error for years, maybe 10 years, and it appears to be innocuous. From my research and understanding, the .QEL is used with securities and investment tracking. However, it is not a separate file but it is compiled into the Quicken executable, so there's not much you can do with the existing data file. You can create a new file, but then you lose your history.
