Transfer Question - funds from banking account to an investment account

How do I transfer money from a banking account to an investment account without it appearing as an expense in my banking account? Is this possible to do? Quicken Classic and Windows

Why would you think that it's an expense? You record a Transfer by placing Square Brackets around the name of the Investment account when you record the transaction in the banking account (e.g. [Investment account name]) and Q knows that this isn't an expense.

and the [Transfer] is a double door - that single entry will appear in BOTH account registers - with the Category pointing to each other
