How do I get rid of the need for Password Vault?
Which connection types require the use of Password Vault? I want to switch away from those if the F.I. permits.

Direct Connect is now the only connection method stored in the PV. Be aware that if you decide to go this route you will lose download capability from within Quicken.

Ok, I'm confused. I have about a dozen accounts setup using EWC with only one (Fidelity) using DC. All of those accounts download just fine. Are you saying that if I'm able to change Fidelity over to EWC then I won't be able to download anymore?

First off, EWC is the least reliable download method and most FI are or will be switching over to EWC+. Both methods no longer require the password stored in the PV. DC is the most reliable method used to download transactions and most, but not all investment firms support DC.
What is your goal in eliminating the PV?
