Turning off auto entry of placeholder entries

My Schwab transaction downloads do not agree with Quicken Windows (latest version) even though my account reconciles every day. Quicken auto enters a fix placeholder entry to correct my cash balance even though it is correct. There is no option to reject the placeholder entry. I see the threads on this issue go back many years but this issue only started about a year ago. I have followed every corrective action without success. Turned off auto compare for portfolio transctions for every account. tried to turn off auto compare in the TOOLS / ONLINE CENTER / OPTIONS but no such option is available in my version. Hard to believe this is still an issue after 5+ years of user complaints?

    The way you prevent placeholders is by preventing the "Compare" that can be kicked off automatically after the downloading of transactions.

    Edit → Preference → Downloaded transactions → Settings (the "Compare account portfolio after download" line) → Clear All → OK
