Auto-memorize new payees turned back on with latest update

This setting is always off for me. Today I noticed that I was getting weird autofill garbage info as I went to accept downloaded transactions. For some reason, Quicken had turned auto-memorize back on. This created about 20 new weird payees (all Amazon). Reported as a bug via help menu

Yes, for some reason they fill that people that have had this setting off for decades now need it. I have seen though that if you turn it off, it does stay off. You should check both the automatic memorizing of payees, and automatic of categories.

Thanks Chris. Maybe they ran out of new features to "promote"? ;-)

Why did they do this, and how do I undo this? It probably cost me 3 hours to fix. What is wrong with these people?

    Turn off:

Edit → Preferences → Data entry and QuickFill → Automatically memorize new payees

And depending on if you want it or not:

Edit → Preference → Downloaded transactions → Automatically categorize transactions

EDIT: check this one too, this is the one that renames a payee if none of your renaming rules kicks in and they have a "server entry" for that payee:

Edit → Preferences → Downloaded transactions → Automatically apply Quicken's suggested name to payee.
