How to handle and trade Options in Quicken (edit)

I am running windows Q version R56.9. I saw an answer to this question, but I can't get it to work. It's probably me but here is the question. I sold my first call and it wasn't exercised. I entered it as a short sale and it still removed the 100 shares from the portfolio. I have several of these but one was exercised. I haven't tried doing that one yet. Would someone please explain it again.
Thank you
Mike

That Short Sale should have been for the CALL … not the underlying security. The Option is a separate security with a separate symbol.
Then, when it isn't exercised, use a Cover Short of the CALL, again not the underlying security.
