When I attempt to run One Step Update, the program freezes on the One Step Update Progress Window and I can only force quit it through Task Manager. When I do that, it then cannot open the QDATA file and I have to restore from backup just to get the file back open which thankfully I had just performed an update last week. How can I get this issues resolved?
As a test, try updating one Financial Institution at a time via the GEAR, "Update Now" command in the upper right corner of the register for the accounts.
While more than one FI COULD be causing the problem … that's somewhat unlikely.
Once you've identified the culprit, please report back with the "Transaction Download" info for that FI (found at TOOLS, Account List) and any error messages or codes and we can proceed from there.
BTW, killing Q via the Task Manager, while sometimes necessary, frequently results in a damaged data file. SO, you might also try taking a backup and doing FILE. Validate and Repair File before doing those updates.

I'm having the same issue - update is freezing. It freezes even when updating a single account.

I thought tech support was open on weekends because I normally do my finances on Saturdays and when Quicken acts up I call - I got a short message when I called support today and they just said to call during their normal hours, which they did not indicate what those hours are.
I'm getting worried that Quicken isn't doing well and after 34 years will have to find something new.
I am having the exact same issue.
I got it working. Not sure what the problem was but I left it to sit trying to update and it took almost half an hour but finally updated. Subsequent updates have run like normal.
