Placeholder issue

I have an investment account which shows * next to ROI. I think I made an error in entering information and it suggests I have placeholder entries. When I look at the account there are 0 placeholders showing however if I click on the stock it shows 2 placeholders in the security detail. How do I remove these placeholders as it wont let me on the view and doesnt show in the register?

    Go to Edit > Preferences > Investments > make sure the box is checked for Show hidden transactions.

    Then you should be able to see Placeholders in your investment account register as well as beneath the register on the Placeholders tab.

    Once the Placeholders are resolved you should then be able to delete them.
