Net Worth Calculations

Good Morning. While my Q for Mac is a very solid program, I do appreciate you being here when issues do occur, and I have discovered one. In my net worth box on my Home Screen the liability total is significantly higher than it should be. I've traced the problem to my Capitol One credit card. When I remove all other liability accounts, leaving only the Cap 1 account, the amount shown in the liability box is three times higher than the actual cleared balance on the card. When I remove my Cap 1 card from the calculation and add all my other liability accounts back in, the liability amount is correct. Any idea what is going on and more importantly if there is a fix? Thank you!

What's the Date Range on your Net Worth report? When I select Year To Date, everything matches, but if I select All Dates then a couple cards no longer match because I have future transactions that are included in the Net Worth report but not the sidebar balance.

Speaking of which, which balance are you displaying in the sidebar - Today's Balance, Projected Balance, or Online Balance?

What's showing in the actual account? When was the last time that you reconciled the account?

The actual account is 1/3 the number that comes in the Net worth box for the same account. I update & reconcile my accounts every week day so everything is current.

Great catch. When my setting is last quarter (my goto) or last year the amount is off. Last 3 or 12 months gives a correct liability number. Those will be my new defaults. Thank you!
