what is wrong with quicken?

i have been encountering lots of issues.
some institutions are not downloading at all (amex/bofa)
manual downloads arent available either (bofa only has qif not qfx)
logins dont work anymore (e.g. chase). when resetup they dont match accounts and need to be manually matched.
downloads result in duplicate transactions (chase)
are things moving too fast for legacy quicken?

Don't blame Quicken for that, the financial institution runs their website and decide which type of files they will supply. Discover no longer provides a .QFX file also.
I can't comment on your other points, but dropping .QFX downloads needs to be complained about to the FI.

Since you're having so much difficulty, it sounds like data file corruption. I am not experiencing any of those issues so it's not a systemic Quicken issue. Try restoring a known-good data file backup. Alternately, you could try Resetting your online accounts. If that doesn't work, try deactivating and reactivating all of the accounts.
