Download issue and Close Current File error [Edited]
Hello:
I have a new computer and was able to successfully load my Quicken and my files from the old computer. I have since had an issue when trying to download from my bank or my credit card company. I have never run into this issue on the old computer. For the bank, I use WebConnect for Quicken and from the credit cards, I just select the Quicken option. When I do, the Quicken recognizes a download coming in but a dialog box pops up in Quicken saying "Close Current File" with only a Yes or No decision. The file will not come in to Quicken. I saw an old post from 2022 with the same issue and it had to do with the file extension not being a .qif, but a .qfx file. I have no option on selecting a file type.
I had no issues with downloads two weeks ago. It is only since I have my new computer.
Thanks for the assistance
Carol

@cthomas what steps are you doing to download the web connect file to Quicken? There are several ways it can be done. Also please explain "Quicken option".

@cthomas no I haven't received your reply. Do you see it on your end? Maybe check your drafts (located in Quick Links).

Hi - my replies are just not getting through - not sure why. However, I was using Mozilla Firefox and decided to just now try Chrome - no issues, download came in as it always had.
I'll have to dig in deeper to my Mozilla settings

@cthomas sometimes browsers other than Edge or Chrome don't work as well with Quicken. But glad you figured it out and are able to download again.

I log in, go to transactions, then download transactions. I have the following options: Comma Delimited OFX Open File Exchange or QuickBooks® using WebConnect orQuicken® using WebConnect
with credit card company, same process: Excel versions 2003 and above or Quicken versions 2010 and above or QuickBooks version 2010 and above
In both cases, I choose Quicken, as I always have.

HI - my bank is Citizens Bank. I log in, go to transactions and then "download transactions." I have the following options:
Comma Delimited OFX Open File Exchange
QuickBooks® using WebConnect
Quicken® using WebConnect
with my credit card company, same process - login in, go to transactions and then "download transactions."
Excel versions 2003 and above
Quicken versions 2010 and above
QuickBooks version 2010 and above
In both cases, I choose the option for Quicken, as I always have. I have never encountered my issue until now, including changes from one computer to another computer since 1996.
I hope my reply makes sense.

Hello - thank you for replying:
My bank is Citizens Bank. I am in my transactions and the dropdown for "Download Transactions" my options are:
Comma Delimited OFX
Open File Exchange QuickBooks® using WebConnect
Quicken® using WebConnect
My credit card gives me this as options:
Excel versions 2003 and above
Quicken version 2010 and above
QuickBooks versions 2010 and above
In both scenarios, I select the Quicken option as I have done for years, including past transfers from old/new computers. I have never encountered the error that I now have.
Hope my reply makes sense.
