Black bar on toolbar after updating an account

After doing an update and downloading transactions for any one of my accounts, I get a black bar across the top of my Quicken screen. I cannot move down my account list to update another account without exiting Quicken and then opening it back up again. I have the latest update to my Quicken software. This issue started about 7 - 10 days ago.

    Where is this black bar in relation to the Title bar, which starts with the Q logo and then shows your product followed by a dash and your file name.

    Also, please do HELP, About Quicken and tell us the BUILD and product that you're currently running.

    Black bar appears across entire Quicken window directly under that Title bar you cite. Wipes out the toolbar that starts with "File, etc. and ends with Settings gear tooth icon" which is why I can't go onto another account to download transactions.

    I'm not sure if this is file corruption, or program corruption. Have you tried re-installing Q?

    Have you tried taking a backup and then FILE, Validate and Repair File?

    Can give that a try, but am now seeing numerous "posts" about a similar problem. Quicken issue????

    To NotACPA: Thank you for suggestions. Tried "Back Up and then File/Validate/Repair." No change to appearance of black bar across top of screen after updating any one account. Will have to try reinstalling.
