Transactions download don't appear in quicken

I just reestablished quicken delux on my new Windows 11 computer. Previously, when I downloaded transactions from a credit card account, the transactions would appear in quicken when they were downloaded. Now when I download the transactions, they don't automatically appear. Instead I have to go to the download folder and double click on the .QFX file. Then the transactions appear in quicken. What gives? Is there a setting aI need to adjust. Thanks.

What method are you using for that download? Web Connect (+)? Express Web connect? Direct Connect?

If you're unsure, you can see this info at TOOLS, Account List and look at the "Transactions Download" column adjacent to the particular account.

  • @Swanson check your browser's download settings—some browsers block automatic file opening for security reasons.

In Windows 11, go to Settings→Default Apps→Choose defaults by file type, search for "QFX" and verify that the QFX file extension is associated with Quicken.

In Quicken, click on Edit→Preferences→Web Connect and verify that "Give me the option of saving to a file whenever I download Web Connect data" is not checked.

The other thing to try is uninstalling and reinstalling Quicken. That will also reestablish file associations if they, for some reason, have been broken.
