How to add prior auto loan payment to my new Auto Loan

- go to your checking account register (or wherever the payments were made from) and find the transaction for the prior payment.
- In the Category field, do a transfer to [Loan Account Name]. This links the payment to the loan.
- Then, Split the Transaction and allocate the amounts accordingly:
- Principal → Transfer to Loan Account
- Interest → Use a category like “Loan Interest”
- After entering the payment, check the loan account to ensure the balance reflects the reduction.
