Quicken Classic for Windows—Version R53.21, Build 27.1.63.21

My ACCOUNTS window is showing an incorrect balance for one retirement investing account. carr. The balance on the account and in the INVESTING—Portfolio window is correct, matching my online brokerage account. This started recently around the time of a routine rebalancing of my portfolio. The ACCOUNTS—Investing balance appears to be off by the same amount, while the INVESTMENTS—Portfolio window shows the correct investments total.

The account in error has been changed to the simple tracking model, but its correct balance has been reflected in ACCOUNTS for weeks since the change.

I don't understand your last paragraph. Do you mean " … its incorrect balance has been reflected … ?" If not, please explain.

Are there any overdue Reminders for this account? That would explain the discrepancy.

After going to the simple tracking model, the correct balance showed for weeks before it went bad. I rarely use the Reminder transaction and can find none in the account.

PS. I tried Validate and Repair including Rebuild investing lots and Correct investing price history. (Repair). No joy. Today, after a week's vacation, and installing a new Quicken version, balances were correct.

It would be nice to know if either the rest or the update had anything to do with the problem fix. Or, did the little man with magnetic feet step on just the right bit :-).

When I mentioned overdue Reminders, I was not referring to Investing Reminder transactions, but rather income and expense Reminders, which are used for recurring transactions. If you have overdue Reminders, the Reminder amounts are reflected in the Accounts bar but not in the Accounts bar but not in the balance shown in the account's Transaction List (register.)
