  • @mahneedham here is what I see for VTIAX and it seems the price on Quicken matches the correct price of 38.38.

@mahneedham Do you hold this fund in a 401(k) or similar retirement account? If so, is it the publicly traded fund, or is it a special version of the fund with "Trust" or something in its name? These funds often have a different price than the publicly traded version.

Check the info and share price on the 401(k) website to see.

If you don't hold the public version of the fund, you should go to Tools > Security List and un-check the Download quotes box. You should also edit the security details for this fund to remove the ticker symbol. If the account is set up for transaction downloading, you will still get price updates from the 401(k) administrator.

Thanks for the replies. Looking into the situation more completely, I see the price as shown on Quicken was $38.38 on 8/15 but $58.87 today. Perhaps it will self correct.

I am aware of the difference between funds, but I believe that VTIAX should identify the fund uniquely.

    Thanks!

  • @mahneedham I think you can safely delete that rogue price. Who knows where it came from but it will probably stay out there unless you delete it.

In Portfolio View in the Investing tab, right click on the security and then select "Price History". You will then see a list of prices. Highlight the rogue price and then click on "Delete".
