Home tab views keep disappearing.

Version: R61.21 Windows 10 Enterprise

After creating custom views on the "Home" tab, they work fine until I close Quicken. Upon reopening Quicken, the custom views I created are gone. I believe this started with the last update because prior, I've had no issues with it. Anyone else have this problem? How can I fix this?

I just accidently fixed the problem.

On the Home tab, I selected the gear icon and enabled the dashboard and my custom views reappeared. I then disabled the dashboard and my custom views remained. I closed Quicken, reopened it and my custom views remained intact.

Weird, I know. Just thought I'd post this in case anyone else runs into this problem I was having.

Thanks everyone for trying to help!

What settings do you use in Quicken?

    • In the View Menu, is "Use Classic Menus" selected?
    • Also in the View Menu, under the selection "Tabs to show" is/are the Home tab and all other tabs selected that are not greyed out?

P.S.: You are a few release updates behind. If your subscription is active, please consider updating Quicken to the latest software release, R 64.19 (click Help / Check for Updates. If it's not available for you right now, it will be in a couple of days)

    Thanks for helping.

I currently have version R63.21 not R61.21 (my bad - typo) and upon checking for updates, it says I have the latest version so I'll keep an eye out for an update (Quicken alerts me when an update is available.) Switching from "Standard Menus (recommended)" to "Classic Menus" makes no difference. Also, under "Tabs to show", all tabs are checked.

Are you syncing to Mobile & Web?

  • @MrGadget957 have you tried a data file validate?

File → Validate and Repair File → Validate File. After the validate completes, review the validate log for messages.

You also can do super validate by hold Ctrl-Shift while clicking "Validate and Repair File".

Whenever things don't seem to be working right, that is the first troubleshooting step I do.

As for syncing to Mobile & Web, I don't sync my data to the web. I don't want my data in the (insecure) cloud.

I did previously validate and now just tried the super validate (thanks for enlightening me on that one). Created the add'l views and as soon as I reopen Quicken, they're gone.

Am I missing something in settings maybe? I'm completely baffled.

If you haven't done so already, I'd say it's time to contact Quicken Support on the phone during posted hours of operation and request help. Let them do a screen share session with you to review the situation on your computer, to determine the nature of the problem and to figure out how to fix it.
