Add funds transactions not included in Venmo downloads

I have added a Venmo account to Quicken for Mac recently to track my transactions and then discovered that you can download online transactions from Venmo into this account. This works fine, but I have found that while the downloads include the payments that I make through Venmo as well as the payments I receive and the transfers that I make to move those payments to my checking account, the downloads from Venmo never include the funds that are added from my linked account to fund the payments that I send. As a result, I need to make sure to add additional transactions as transfers from checking account to Venmo - otherwise the Venmo balance never adds up correctly! Not a big deal but it's kinda weird how Venmo skips including those funding transactions. Does everyone see the same anomaly?

    Hello @roadsterfoodie,

Thanks for sharing this — I definitely understand how confusing it can be when it feels like a transaction is “missing”.

Just to clarify: Are you actually transferring money into your Venmo balance ahead of time to make payments, or are you letting Venmo pull funds directly from your linked bank account when you pay someone?

I ask because I see the same thing you're describing in my own Venmo account — and it turns out it’s because I don't pre-fund my Venmo balance. Instead, Venmo just pulls the money straight from my bank account when I make a payment. So, there's no visible “Add Funds” transaction within Venmo itself — the transaction actually shows up in the linked bank account.

Looking forward to hearing back from you.
